Did Josef Mengele achieve his genetic goal?


Is the Nazi doctor Josef Mengele responsible for the astonishing number of twins in a small Brazilian town claims an Argentine historian?

One in five pregnancies in the small Brazilian town have resulted in twins - most of them blond haired and blue eyed

The steely hearted “Angel of Death”, whose mission was to create a master race fit for the Third Reich, was the resident medic at Auschwitz from May 1943 until his flight in the face of the Red Army advance in January 1945.

His task was to carry out experiments to discover by what method of genetic quirk twins were produced – and then to artificially increase the Aryan birthrate for his master, Adolf Hitler.

Now, a historian claims, Mengele’s notorious experiments may have borne fruit.

For years scientists have failed to discover why as many as one in five pregnancies in a small Brazilian town have resulted in twins – most of them blond haired and blue eyed.

But residents of Candido Godoi now claim that Mengele made repeated visits there in the early 1960s, posing at first as a vet but then offering medical treatment to the women of the town.

Shuttling between Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil, he managed to evade justice before his death in 1979, but his dreams of a Nazi master race appeared unfulfilled.

In a new book, Mengele: the Angel of Death in South America, the Argentine historian Jorge Camarasa, a specialist in the post-war Nazi flight to South America, has painstakingly pieced together the Nazi doctor’s mysterious later years.

After speaking to the townspeople of Candido Godoi, he is convinced that Mengele continued his genetic experiments with twins – with startling results.

He reveals how, after working with cattle farmers in Argentina to increase their stock, Mengele fled the country after fellow Nazi, Adolf Eichmann, was kidnapped by Israeli agents.

He claims that Mengele found refuge in the German enclave of Colonias Unidas, Paraguay, and from there, in 1963, began to make regular trips to another predominantly German community just over the border in Brazil – the farming community of Candido Godoi.

And, Mr Camaras claims, it was here that soon after the birthrate of twins began to spiral.

“I think Candido Godoi may have been Mengele’s laboratory, where he finally managed to fulfil his dreams of creating a master race of blond haired, blue eyed Aryans,” he said.

“There is testimony that he attended women, followed their pregnancies, treated them with new types of drugs and preparations, that he talked of artificial insemination in human beings, and that he continued working with animals, proclaiming that he was capable of getting cows to produce male twins.”

The urbane German who arrived in Candido Godoi was remembered with fondness by many of the townspeople.

“He told us he was a vet,” said Aloisi Finkler, a local farmer interviewed by Mr Camarasa. “He asked about illnesses we had among our animals, and told us not to worry, he could cure them. He appeared a cultured and dignified man.”

Another farmer, Leonardo Boufler, said: “He went from farm to farm checking the animals. He checked them for TB, and injected those that were infected. He said he could carry out artificial insemination of cows and humans, which we thought impossible as in those days it was unheard of.”

But the Nazi eugenicist did not concentrate on animals alone.

A former mayor and town doctor, Anencia Flores da Silva, set out to try to solve the town’s mystery. He interviewed hundreds of people, and discovered one character who crept on cropping up: an itinerant medic calling himself Rudolph Weiss.

Dr da Silva said: “In the testimonies we collected we came across women who were treated by him, he appeared to be some sort of rural medic who went from house to house. He attended women who had varicose veins and gave them a potion which he carried in a bottle, or tablets which he brought with him. Sometimes he carried out dental work, and everyone remembers he used to take blood.”

The people of Candido Godoi now largely accept that a Nazi war criminal was an inadvertent guest of theirs for several years in the early 1960s. The town’s official crest shows two identical profiles and a road sign welcomes visitors to a “Farming Community and Land of the Twins”. There is also a museum, the House of the Twins.

While the twins birthrate varies widely in different countries, it is typically about one in 80 pregnancies – a statistic that has left Mr Camarasa certain in his claim that Mengele was successfully pursuing his dreams of creating a master race, a real-life Boys from Brazil.

“Nobody knows for sure exactly what date Mengele arrived in Candido Godoi, but the first twins were born in 1963, the year in which we first hear reports of his presence,” he said.

How do you trust someone who can't keep his own finance in order with billions of dollar?


The past few days, most of us have been so high on hope that most have almost overlooked the personnel in our new president’s cabinets. In general, I have a great feeling about our new administration, but then our previous administration has set the bar of expectation so low that anything other than "the Bush doctrine" will make us all happy. This is not to suggest that I have no great hope for the new administration, because I do have great hope. Hence, it was somewhat surprising that our future to be Secretary of Treasure would make “an apparent mistake” of around thirty-thousand dollars of back pay taxes to IRS that he alleged to have been an oversight on his part when he was self-employed. Yes, we all make mistakes but this is the man whom we are going to intrust with some one trillion dollars to fix our economy. I am just wondering if he can’t keep his own finance in orders then I am suppose to trust him that he will keep our one trillion dollar in order. 

Would you place your trust on a financial adviser that can’t keep his own finance in order? Are we to listen to a minister who is morally corrupt preaching to us to be moral human beings? Is a nation who professes to be for human right excuse to be inhumane during times of war (e.g., Guantanamo Bay)? Most likely, all of us would not place our trust in such individuals or countries but somehow we are to trust that this is the best person to entrust our trillion plus dollars.

What Does the 20th of January of 2009 Really Means?

In a few days, this country will be officially entering a new era. This is truly a great time to be alive, because after what it has been one horrible event after another (e.g., 9/11, Iraq, Katrina, The Greatest Recession, etc), this country will have a truly historical moment that will be both remembered and celebrated as long as history remembers our country favorably. We should celebrate and rejoice in this great accomplishment of the people. Without any doubt, I will be sharing this moment with my grandchildren.

However, I am not sure whether I would be referring to our 44th President, Mr. Obama, as our first African-American. I think history will remember him as our first true American leader who really reflected our racial makeup of this country. This country can no longer live under a fabricated social-political racial categories that divide our nation. We are no longer a nation of Whites, Blacks, Latino/as, Asians, Native/Indigenous Americans, and Others. This racial categories are breaking us apart. Please, I am not naive to think that there is no racial division in this country. Instead, what I am trying to say is that this racial divide is artificial social-political system that promotes division, inequality, suspicion and hate. 

As people of this country, we must be clear that Mr. Obama is no more White as he is Black. We are no more American as we are from another country. Instead, we have all being naturalized to be citizens of this country through naturalization and not by birth since we are a nation of immigrants - yes, it is true that the Native Americans are the first inhabitants of this land but they are not the first Americans since this country as we know was not yet founded. As citizen, we are all bound to defend and to be defended by the primal law, the U.S. Constitution, of this country. In other words, as an American, we are to defend and live in accordance with the supreme rule of this country. Additionally, as an American, we have been bestowed with both innate and legal rights. Our innate right is the Constitutional sense of divine-given rights, that is, by our mere birth as a human beings, we have rights that cannot be taken away from us by any social-political powers -perhaps, it could be said that Gxd has given us innate right. The legal rights are in the U.S. Constitution, which provides us with legal rights and duties. 

To defend and live in accordance with the U.S. Constitution means to be an American. Thus, one is no more American because one has been living in this country for hundreds of years than someone who has just taken an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution. This is the great equalizer in this country. It is not one’s ethnicity that determines one’s statues of citizenship in this country, but one’s willingness to give-up one’s life to defend the U.S. Constitution. 

What does this have to do with Obama’s race? Nothing or Everything! It seems that our claim is our desire to be heard. That is, as African-Americans claim Obama as their own, which I find humorous particularly because about ten or so months ago leaders of the African-American communities questioned Mr. Obama Blackness. Is Mr. Obama Black enough? Well, how things change quickly after he has decisively won the election! Mr. Obama became so Black that I wonder where his mother went after this process of becoming Black became complete. What happen to Obama’s White mother? Is Obama any more Black than he is White? Is Obama any more White than he is Black? 

In my perspective, Mr. Obama is no more Black than he is White and he is no more White than he is Black. He is fully Black and White. Mr. Obama is not half this or that but fully and completely Black and White. Thus, I say he is truly our first president that really embodies the true identity of this country. I hope someday we are no longer divided by being White-American or Black-American or Hispanic-American or Asian-American or Native-American or Other-American, but united as one who is foremost an American that happens to be either Native, Hispanic, White, Black, Asian, or Other. We are united in our uncompromisable commitment to the U.S. Constitution and united in our uncompromisable commitment to what it makes each of us uniquely different American. Hence, I hope we can see what it truly means to have someone like Mr. Obama in our White House, because he is truly the embodiment of our country, as a melting pot. He is our first and truly representation of what it means to be American now-in-days. We are not Americans because we are Native, Hispanic, White, Black, Asian, and Others. Also, we are not Americans because we have been given "White-English" name. Instead, we are Americans because we truly believe, and will die to defend, these truths, which we hold to be self-evident, "that all [human beings] are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

And for those lucky enough to be attending the AVN awards on January 10th in Las Vegas, it's also the time when porn stars leap out of the DVD player and come to life to pose for pictures and sign your time-worn copy of "Jenna Loves Rocco." 

Luckily, adult entertainer and Wicked Girl Stormy Daniels (who is nominated for both "Best Supporting Actress" and "Crossover Star of the Year") was kind enough to give us some pointers on how to keep your foot out of your mouth when faced with your favorite porn stars. Lawsuit filed against God for discrimination

Lawsuit seeks to take 'so help me God' out of inaugural

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A number of atheists and non-religious organizations want Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony to leave out all references to God and religion.

In a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Washington, the plaintiffs demand that the words "so help me God" not be added to the end of the president's oath of office.

In addition, the lawsuit objects to plans for ministers to deliver an invocation and a benediction in which they may discuss God and religion.

An advance copy of the lawsuit was posted online by Michael Newdow, a California doctor and lawyer who has filed similar and unsuccessful suits over inauguration ceremonies in 2001 and 2005.

Joining Newdow in the suit are groups advocating religious freedom or atheism, including the American Humanist Association, the Freedom from Religion Foundation and atheist groups from Minnesota; Seattle, Washington; and Florida.

The new lawsuit says in part, "There can be no purpose for placing 'so help me God' in an oath or sponsoring prayers to God, other than promoting the particular point of view that God exists."

Newdow said references to God during inauguration ceremonies violate the Constitution's ban on the establishment of religion.

Newdow and other plaintiffs say they want to watch the inaugural either in person or on television. As atheists, they contend, having to watch a ceremony with religious components will make them feel excluded and stigmatized.

"Plaintiffs are placed in the untenable position of having to choose between not watching the presidential inauguration or being forced to countenance endorsements of purely religious notions that they expressly deny," according to the lawsuit.

Among those named in the lawsuit are Chief Justice of the United States John Roberts, who is expected to swear in the new president; the Presidential Inauguration Committee; the Joint Congressional Committee on Inauguration Ceremonies and its chairwoman, Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California; and the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee and its commander, Maj. Gen. Richard Rowe Jr.

The two ministers scheduled to participate in the ceremony also are named: the Rev. Rick Warren and the Rev. Joseph Lowery. The document includes a quotation from Warren on atheists: "I could not vote for an atheist because an atheist says, 'I don't need God.' "

Newdow told CNN that he didn't name President-elect Barack Obama in the suit because in addition to participating as a government official at the ceremony, he possesses rights as an individual that allow him to express religious beliefs.

"If he chooses to ask for God's help, I'm not going to challenge him," Newdow said. "I think it's unwise."

Newdow said that as a member of a racial minority, Obama should have respect for atheists, who also are members of a minority.

Newdow said religious references in the inauguration ceremony send a message to non-believers.

"The message here is, we who believe in God are the righteous, the real Americans," he said.

Newdow said it's unconstitutional to imply that atheists and others are not as good.

He acknowledged that his suit is unlikely to be successful.

"I have no doubt I'll lose," he said, adding that he hoped to eventually succeed through appeals and hoped future inauguration ceremonies would exclude religious references.
